In any sort of emergency some form of communications is vital to allow the citizens of the community to function properly. This is especially important in small communities around the country. Some sort of organized CB operators with well equipped stations could easily make a big difference in emergency situations.
Sally joined NASA in 1977 and went through the same rigorous training the male astronauts got. Another major phone by a big company competing directly against the iPhone is Google's Nexus One. While it may not have all the features of the iPhone radio communication the Nexus One is a very strong offering running on the Android platform. It has GPS, a great touchscreen, an increasing number of apps, and a sleek, stylish design that will appeal to anyone. Also has a physical keyboard.
Circulate them. If you want to make good use of your old DVDs, but you don't necessarily want to get rid of them, you can always circulate them. Yes, you can loan your DVDs out to friends and family who have kids. This will help save them some money and make you feel good for being able to contribute to their family entertainment.
